HATEBRAKE™
A common problem in short barrel PDW’s with low-pressure cartridges is reliable cycling. Maxim Defense Hate Brake muzzle booster is designed to regulate firearm exhaust gases to ensure PDW’s cycle more reliably.
The primary design features include the redirection of gasses, decreasing the flash signature, significantly reducing recoil, and increasing accuracy.
The HATE BRAKE installs with a 3/8” drive socket from the front, enabling it to be installed under a handguard without removing the handguard. During installation, the HATE BRAKE locks into place with K-Taper, a patent-pending taper locking technology, replacing the need for proprietary tapered barrels. The external shape of the HATE BRAKE is designed to work with M-Slot compatible hand guards.

Bought the brake for a PTR32k (7.62×39 with 12.5″ barrel) and was not disappointed. I can’t say enough good things about the Hate Brake. I had a BCM comp on the gun and it would throw massive fireballs. Not to mention the skull rattling concussion. The gun was obnoxious. Not any more. The concussion all goes forward. The recoil elimination is superb and the flash reduction is nothing less than amazing. If you’re considering a Hate Brake; buy it!

I recently purchased the Maxim PDX pistol in 5.56 and was so impressed with the performance that I thought I’d try the Hatebrake on my piston recoil AR (pistol). My local FFL was impressed with the design and construction, and his armorer did the install on a mil-spec barrel in minutes. The piston recoil system did not require any adjustments from its “out of the box” configuration. Shooting 223/556 target ammo; function, flash and recoil were noticeably better and very manageable over the stock birdcage I had just removed. No adverse impacts on function of the piston or accuracy. Glad I made this purchase…and by the way…a couple of years ago, on this same pistol, I had replaced the mil-spec buffer and spring with Maxim products. Freakin’ love your stuff, great job Maxim.
